A Monster Calls
The monster showed up after midnight. As they do.
But it isn’t the monster Conor’s been expecting. He’s been expecting the one from his nightmare, the one he’s had nearly every night since his mother started her treatments, the one with the darkness and the wind and the screaming…
This monster is something different, though. Something ancient, something wild. And it wants the most dangerous thing of all from Conor.
It wants the truth.
The book cover for this book always made me think it was a much scarier book but after seeing this book trailer, I realize now that it’s not. I tend to avoid horror books, well because I just don’t need scary in my life, so I didn’t even look twice at this book. The trailer makes rethink my first opinion. I think it’s less on the horror side but more on the spooky side and I can totally do spooky. Anyone else feel the same?
